Flowers from a Short Walk in Ballyferriter

We are a week behind in postings, and we won't start catching up for another week for two reasons. First, we are renting a house which lacks wifi. Second, Irene is studying Irish language full time for six more days; and we need to share images for the posts that are backed up. Meanwhile, here are a few images of flowers and other things I saw walking to the beach from our house in Ballyferriter on the Dingle Peninsula.

All of the flowers were on the side of the one-lane, two-way road I walked on.

The next four are gorse, a plant which grows all over the countryside.
Be wary of the sharp spines, which characterize the plant.

I found some developing ferns, which would be called "fiddleheads" in the United States.

This image shows two long, pointed leaves beginning to unwind.

These reeds were dense along the roadside in a few places.
They exhibit an interesting pattern.

There were some handsome lichens on the rocks.

Finally, this images tweaks my nautical memories.
